Breezy Point Inn, on the west shore of Greenwood Lake, has long been a favorite spot of those who enjoy the combination of calming panoramic lake views and tasty German-American fare. “The Breezy,” as it’s often referred to, is open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner. Brunch is served Sundays. Diners can choose to eat inside or outside on The Breezy’s spacious outdoor deck. Live entertainment is scheduled weekends during the summer. Daily lunch and dinner specials are offered in addition to The Breezy’s regular menu, which includes well-known German dishes such as sauerbraten and wiener schnitzel.

A favorite with regular customers is Chicken Michele, breast of chicken brushed with Dijon mustard and fresh herbs served over sautͩed spinach with mashed potatoes. Light and tasty salads include the Santa Fe, with grilled chicken strips, avocado, tomato, cheddar cheese and bacon. The popular 10-ounce Breezy Burger is served with shoestring fries, lettuce, tomato and pickles. Diners choice of appetizers include baked oysters with spinach and Cayenne pepper, steamed clams with garlic and white wine or a selection from the raw seafood bar. Among dessert offerings are fresh apple strudel ala mode and chocolate mousse.

The Breezy’s well-known annual special events are a lakefront institution throughout the year. Oktoberfest pig roasts are a tradition at The Breezy. The Oktoberfest celebration includes a German-style buffet with imported beer and special entertainment every weekend from late September through mid-November. The February Winter Carnival weekend is a celebration of warm hearts and cold-weather sports and games. Kicked off with an evening torch-lighting ceremony, the fun includes ice bowling, snow shoe races, a chili contest and Polar Bear Swims.

The restaurant’s special five-course gourmet wine dinners are elegant and delicious evenings out. Most recently, The Breezy celebrated Cinco de Mayo with Mexican specialties.
